Limestone County, AL — January 29, 2024, Sidney Benson was killed and eight people were injured in a car versus bus accident at around 10:15 p.m. along S.H. 53.
According to authorities, 23-year-old Sidney Benson was traveling in a passenger vehicle on Alabama Highway 53 in the vicinity of Pinedale Road when the accident occurred.
The causal factors that led to the crash are still unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the passenger vehicle was involved in a collision with a bus. The crash caused the bus to leave the roadway, where it then overturned.
Benson reportedly incurred fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene of the accident. Of the eight other people who sustained injuries, one was in critical condition, three were in serious condition, and four were in stable condition. They were each transported to various medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
