People may be jumping to all kinds of conclusions about what happened here, but what can actually cause a vehicle to “suddenly” lose control? Some of the first concerns I’d have would be things like mechanical defects, tire blowouts, medical emergencies, debris in the road, or some other unpredictable factor.

Others, however, may simply just blame the driver because that’s what they always do after a single-vehicle wreck. Is that really fair? It is true that single-vehicle wrecks are usually the result of a driver making some sort of mistake. Things like distraction, speeding, and fatigue are very common. But the problem with just looking at the usual suspects is that it overlooks the fact that every crash occurs in unique circumstances. Rounding up the usual suspects, so to speak, is a recipe for making mistakes.

Let me put it another way. The victim here had to be flown to the hospital, and they likely weren’t at the scene to tell their side of the story. Why jump to conclusions when the evidence could speak on their behalf?
