Milam County, TX — October 24, 2024, Shellie Jones was injured following a truck accident shortly before 1:30 p.m. along Farm to Market 487.
According to authorities, 57-year-old Shellie Jones was traveling in an eastbound Ford Fusion on F.M. 487 approaching an intersection with a private drive in the vicinity east of F.M. 1600 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Kenworth 18-wheeler hauling a trailer on F.M. 487 attempted a left turn to head southbound on the private drive at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic. The Ford swerved right in an attempt to avoid a collision with the truck, but an impact still occurred between the front-left quarter of the Ford and the right side of the 18-wheeler’s trailer.
Jones sustained reportedly serious injuries as a result of the wreck; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
