Dallas, TX — April 27, 2024, Shawanna Alexander was killed and two others were injured in a single-car accident just before 8:45 a.m. on St. Augustine Dr.
According to authorities, 43-year-old Shawanna Alexander, a 42-year-old man, and a 51-year-old man were traveling in a northbound Lincoln on St. Augustine Road in the vicinity south of Elam Road when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that the vehicle may have been traveling at high speeds leading up to the accident. It reportedly failed to safely maintain its lane of travel, veering off of the right side of the road where it crashed into a tree with its front-left corner. This collision caused the vehicle to go into a clockwise spin, coming to a stop facing southeast in the left of the two northbound lanes of the roadway.
Alexander suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident. The two men who were with her in the Lincoln sustained severe injuries, as well, according to reports. They were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported, though a third passenger was said to have fled the scene of the accident on foot.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
