Beyond that, there just isn’t enough information to draw any firm conclusions. Unfortunately, that probably won’t stop some from doing so anyway. When I get calls from families worried their loved one’s accident isn’t getting the attention it needs, it’s usually a single-vehicle accident or a motorcycle accident. Why is that?

The fact of the matter is people have a lot of biases that lead them to jump to conclusions before actually seeing any of the evidence. With a typical car wreck, they may be willing to consider things like mechanical defects, road hazards, medical conditions, tire blowouts, etc. But a single driver or a motorcyclist gets involved, and any notion of giving someone the benefit of the doubt flies out the window.

To be clear, I’m not here to absolve anyone just as I’m not here to blame anyone. I just see some common red flags of a crash that authorities might simply let slip through the cracks as they move on to other priorities. If they do that before getting the victims and loved ones affected by this the answers they deserve, it just wouldn’t be right.
