Odessa, TX — March 28, 2023, Severo Muniz was killed and Brandon Rosenthal was injured due to a motorcycle versus car accident on 42nd Street.
Investigators said they were called to the intersection of 42nd Street and Governor Preston Smith Road at around 7:45 p.m.

Their reports say that Severo Muniz and Brandon Rosenthal were on motorcycles along with a third rider going eastbound along East 42nd. Due to the crash, Muniz sustained fatal injuries. Rosenthal was taken to a hospital with injuries believed to be serious. No other injuries were confirmed.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Right now, it’s unclear if the Nissan driver will face charges. That may seem odd, but sometimes that sort of thing just takes time. Authorities don’t always tell the public the whole story, and sometimes the details are more complex than folks would think. For all we know, this could involve delicate factors like drunk driving, distracted driving, medical conditions, or something else that led the driver to fail to yield. At the end of the day, so long as the victims’ loved ones are getting all the facts, they’re likely to see a satisfying resolution.
