St. Johns County, FL — July 22, 2023, two people were injured as the result of a truck accident at around 5:00 a.m. along Interstate 95.
Preliminary information about the crash was provided by the Florida Highway Patrol, who said the crash happened along northbound lanes of I-95 near the International Golf Parkway interchange.
According to officials, a pickup truck and a semi-truck were both going northbound at the time. For reasons which aren’t entirely clear, it appears the semi crashed into the back of the pickup. This then sent both vehicles off-road where the pickup hit a tree.
As a result of the collision, officials say both drivers had apparently serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Reports have not currently identified either driver. It’s unclear at this time if any charges or citations are being considered. Investigations are ongoing.
