Merrillville, IN — July 26, 2023, two people were injured as the result of a semi-truck accident Wednesday afternoon along Interstate 65.
According to information provided the Indiana State Police, the crash took place at around 12:20 p.m. along northbound lanes of the interstate near State Route 2.
Preliminary details about the crash are scarce at this time. Details currently say only that a tractor-trailer going northbound along the interstate somehow lost control and collided into the median barrier. This caused concrete to go into the oncoming lanes of traffic where another tractor-trailer hit the debris.
As a result of the accident, both truck drivers involved were taken from the scene with injuries said to be non-life-threatening. There were no other confirmed injuries. At this time, no further information about the accident is available.
