Pierce County, WA — July 19, 2023, two people were injured following a semi-truck accident at around 5:00 a.m. along Interstate 5.
Preliminary statements from authorities indicated that the crash took place along northbound lanes of the interstate near Mounts Road in the area of DuPont.
According to officials, a semi-truck was going northbound along I-5 when, for reasons which are not clear at this time, it crashed into the back of a car. This caused the truck to overturn along with the trailer it was pulling.
As a result of the accident, one person from the car and one from the truck were both taken to the hospital. The person from the car reportedly was in critical condition. No other injuries were confirmed. At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
