Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A concern that often comes up in my line of work involves people wanting to be sure their side of the story is being told fairly. That’s entirely reasonable, and in fact there are plenty of examples where authorities end up only giving one side of the story.
For example, both people in the car here were seriously injured, according to police. That could mean they were taken from the scene without speaking to responding officers. Sometimes, officers fail to follow up with victims, only getting the story from the other driver involved. That means getting both sides of the story might require further work from independent investigators.
Maybe authorities here were thorough and made sure to gather as much evidence as possible. However, it wouldn’t be unusual if there was still more to this story.
