When it comes to accidents like this which involve less typical vehicles, I’m always concerned about how investigations are being handled. Something I talk about a lot on this blog is how authorities aren’t always motivated to look into complex or uncommon possible factors after a crash. For example, vehicle defects are rarely something authorities alone will look into, and they likely wouldn’t have the tools to do so properly anyway. That’s just for typical car wrecks, so with a less-typical vehicle like a scooter, I’d be highly skeptical that authorities would know what they were looking at. For all I know, though, the department who handled this crash was far more thorough. It’s simply not something I would ever take for granted.
