Hidalgo County, TX — November 25, 2023, Santa Castillo was injured in a car accident just before 3:30 in the afternoon along Tower Road.
According to reports, 70-year-old Santa Castillo and two other people were traveling in a northbound Ford Focus on Tower Road approaching the Canton Road intersection when the accident took place.
For reasons which have yet to be confirmed, a Mazda with a single occupant which was traveling eastbound on Canton entered the intersection at an unsafe time, resulting in a collision with the Ford Focus. Castillo reportedly incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive appropriate treatment. No other injuries were reported in connection with this accident.
The cause of the incident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reportedly cloudy and wet. There are not currently any additional details available.
