Nelson County, VA — August 17, 2024, Samantha Lively and Heather Lively were killed in a truck accident just after 8:45 p.m. on Thomas Nelson Highway.
According to authorities, 22-year-old Samantha Lively and 19-year-old Heather lively were traveling in a Chevrolet Aveo in the vicinity where U.S. 29, Thomas Nelson Highway, intersects with S.H. 6, Irish Road, when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Aveo was involved in a collision with a northbound Freightliner. Samantha Lively suffered fatal injuries due to the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene, according to reports. Heather Lively incurred critical injuries, as well, and was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, she was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of her injuries, having there been declared deceased.
