Austin, TX — April 13, 2024, Sahana Lakshmi Ramesh and three others were injured after a car accident at approximately 2:00 a.m. along Cameron Road.
According to authorities, the wreck occurred on Cameron Road in the vicinity of the Cross Park Drive intersection.

Officials indicate that 26-year-old Sahana Lakshmi Ramesh and four others were in a Honda Accord going northbound on Cameron Road. A Chevy Silverado was apparently going southbound against northbound traffic, and it crashed head-on with Ramesh’s Honda.
As a result of the collision, Ramesh and two others in the Honda had apparently serious injuries. The other two passengers had possible injuries while the Chevy driver reportedly had minor injuries.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Most recent statements from authorities allege that the Chevy driver was under the influence of alcohol. Frankly, it wouldn’t surprise me, as just about every driver who gets on the wrong side of the road ends up being extremely intoxicated. That’s why it’s important to find out where that alleged alcohol came from. There may be more than just the wrong-way driver on the hook for the victims’ injuries.
For example, I handled a case not long ago where a drunk driver went into oncoming traffic and hit a family’s car head-on. Authorities filed charges against the driver and moved on. The family called us just to be sure they weren’t missing anything. Well, we found what authorities overlooked: the bar that served the wrong-way driver did so illegally. They over-served him to a point of extreme intoxication, and that made them liable for the injuries resulting from the accident.
Whether or not something like that happened in this crash isn’t clear right now. That’s not too surprising, considering authorities rarely look beyond a crash scene. If victims and families want to be sure they’re getting the whole story, they often have to go beyond a simple police report to get answers. It wouldn’t be surprising if the same proved true here.
