Plano, TX — January 31, 2024, Ryan Gregory McAleavey was injured in a hit-and-run motorcycle versus truck accident just after 4:15 p.m. along Sam Johnson Highway.
According to reports, a white box truck was allegedly traveling northbound in the far left lane of Sam Johnson Highway in the vicinity south of Parker Road when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the box truck made a lane change at an unsafe time. This poorly timed maneuver resulted in a collision between the box truck and a motorcycle occupied by 21-year-old Ryan Gregory McAleavey. The box truck reportedly failed to stop and render aid of any sort to the motorcyclist.
McAleavey incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident and was taken to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
