Cherokee County, TX — December 12, 2023, Ruben Lundgren was killed and Shinnitta Foreman was injured in a car accident around 8:00 p.m. along Hwy. 84.
According to authorities, 23-year-old Ruben Lundgren was traveling in an eastbound Toyota Camry and 46-year-old Shinnitta Foreman was traveling in a westbound GMC Terrain on U.S. Highway 84 in the Maydelle vicinity when the accident took place.
For as yet unknown reasons, the car did not safely maintain its lane of travel, veering left of center and entering the westbound lane of the highway. This resulted in a collision with the oncoming SUV. Lundgren, who was ejected from his vehicle during the crash, reportedly sustained fatal injures, having been declared deceased at the scene. Foreman sustained suspected severe injuries; she was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary evaluation and treatment.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area were reported to have been clear and dry. There are not currently any additional details available pertaining to this incident.
