It’s important to know if that process is in the hands of experienced and well-equipped investigators. People don’t often appreciate just how complex a situation like this can be.

For one, commercial truck wrecks can be uniquely challenging simply due to the size of commercial trucks, the damage caused to the vehicles involved, and the fact there is often a company immediately working to paint themselves in the best light possible, regardless of whether their driver did anything wrong or not.

On top of that, though, authorities are rarely equipped to look into possible factors beyond the most basic, surface-level details. When it comes to things like maintenance records, tire conditions, road design flaws, and other less common factors, they can easily miss something important.

Meanwhile, the victim who lost their life in the crash isn’t around to tell their side of the story. If the only ones around to speak on their behalf are investigators who leave unanswered questions and a company who’s looking out for its own interests, there can be significant obstacles between a victim’s loved ones and the answers they deserve. That’s why getting answers usually requires efforts from independent accident reconstructionists who can pick up the slack of less thorough investigations, block out the noise of those who might bend the facts, and ultimately let the evidence speak for itself. It remains to be seen if any such measures have been taken here.
