UPDATE (February 27, 2025): Authorities identified the woman driving the Nissan as Rosario Nieto.
Pharr, TX — November 11, 2024, three people were injured due to an alleged drunk driver accident at around 2:26 p.m. along Las Milpas Road.
According to initial details about the crash, it happened near the intersection of Las Milpas Road and South Cesar Chavez Road.

Investigators reported that a 41-year-old Pharr woman and a 13-year-old were in a Nissan Sentra traveling westbound on Las Milpas. It appears an oncoming Ford F-150 failed to stay in its lane, and the two vehicles collided. As a result, the Pharr woman and the Ford driver were seriously injured. The teen in the Nissan had reportedly minor injuries.
Authorities allege that the Ford driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident and had been drinking. They recommended a charge for intoxication assault.

When authorities suspect alcohol played a role in a crash, it’s important to ask more than just what happened—it’s also worth asking how it happened. Specifically, where did the alleged drunk driver get their alcohol, and was an alcohol provider involved in over-serving them?
Under Texas dram shop laws, bars, restaurants, and other alcohol providers can be held accountable if they over-serve alcohol to someone who is obviously intoxicated. If an establishment continued serving the Ford driver past the point of intoxication, they may share responsibility for this crash.
Far too often, investigations stop at the driver, but getting the full truth means looking into all contributing factors. Identifying where the alcohol came from isn’t just about accountability—it’s about preventing future crashes by ensuring that alcohol providers follow the law and serve alcohol responsibly. Were steps ever taken here to investigate these possible factors?
