How Did This Accident Occur?

You might look at this accident—a single vehicle crashing in the middle of the night—and assume that driver error was behind it. After all, driver fatigue, distraction, or even impairment are not uncommon in the dark hours of the early morning. However, I’ve been doing this job for over three decades. I’ve learned not to jump to conclusions simply because something is likely.

For example, what if the reason that the Corolla was unable to control its speed was due to a throttle issue? What about a brake failure? Either of those could have led to the collision. An in-depth vehicle inspection—one that’s done by a qualified person in a laboratory setting—would be able to either rule such things out or bring them to light.

Hopefully the authorities investigating this accident have the wherewithal to get one of those inspections done. If not, a third party investigation might be advisable. After all, the answers provided by that kind of thorough investigation are what the loved ones of Rosalina Garcia deserve.
