Sullivan City, TX — April 8, 2023, Rodrigo Hernandez was killed as the result of an accident involving an ATV along El Pinto Road.
Officials said that the incident happened at around 10:00 p.m. off the corner of El Pinto Road and La Pinta Street.
Initial details said that 22-year-old Rodrigo Hernandez was on a motorcycle traveling northbound on El Pinto. In a series of events not clear, the motorcycle crashed into the back of a Polaris RZR ATV, ejecting Hernandez. As a result, Hernandez succumbed to fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Late at night, non-standard vehicles can sometimes present a hazard if not lit properly or operated along a road they shouldn’t be on. It’s not clear right now if any such issues like that played a role here. They’re as important to look into as other potential factors, such as distracted driving, speeding, road hazards, medical conditions, etc. My hope is authorities don’t let anything important slip through the cracks just because of the relatively unusual nature of the vehicles involved. There could be something serious that needs to be addressed.
