Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Single-vehicle accidents can actually be a lot more challenging than folks may realize. They’re not always seen as a high priority by the police, so officers may not be given the time or tools they need to do a proper investigations. This is why it can be important to find out what kinds of questions the investigations covered.

What were road conditions? What was visibility like? Was the vehicle examined for defects? Did a tire blowout? Is there an issue with signage or road design on this stretch of road? While some details may seem unlikely or unimportant, they need to at least be ruled out. In my decades of experience, if victims and families can’t feel confident their side of the story is being told fairly, they’ll naturally look elsewhere to make sure they get the answers they deserve.
