Dallas, TX — February 15, 2023, Robert Burke was killed as the result of a pedestrian accident that happened around 7:16 a.m. along I-30.
Authorities reported that the incident happened along the westbound lanes of R. L. Thornton Freeway.

It appears that 64-year-old Robert Burke was on foot along the interstate, though it is unclear whether Burke was walking on the shoulder, in a lane of travel, or attempting to cross the road. In a series of events not entirely clear, a westbound vehicle struck Burke, leaving him behind and fleeing the scene.
Due to the collision, Burke sustained fatal injuries. There were no other victims mentioned by authorities. Currently, authorities describe the suspected runaway vehicle as a 2003-09 Lexus RX 300/350 that is a dark color. They have yet to identify any suspects or file charges pending continuing investigations.
