Accident Report
February 9, 2026, a Richmond teenager and two others were injured following a car accident at around 5:43 p.m. along Grand Parkway.
According to preliminary statements the crash happened at Grand Parkway and Sand Hill Boulevard, just south of the US Highway 90-Alt intersection.
It appears that a 16-year-old girl from Richmond was in a Chevy Tahoe going southeast through the intersection. At the light, the Tahoe, a Honda CR-V, a Volkswagen Jetta, and a Ford Edge all crossed paths and collided. The cause of the collision is not confirmed right now.
Due to the accident, the teen Tahoe driver was seriously injured. The Honda driver and a passenger from the Jetta reportedly had minor injuries. At this time, additional details are unavailable.
How Did This Accident Occur?
At a traffic light, the most common explanation for a multi-vehicle crash with vehicles all going different directions is that someone failed to yield. However, it’s important to consider all possible factors—even unlikely ones.
For example, I can’t remember the last time I got a car accident case where authorities had done a thorough inspection for vehicle defects. Keep in mind I’ve been doing this for over 30 years. So across hundreds of accidents, time and time again, authorities just overlooked defects without a second thought. We’ve actually had cases where authorities blamed someone for a crash only for independent investigations to reveal the victim had no way of avoiding the accident.
I’m not saying that happened here, of course, but it’s important to know investigators are being thorough. Even if something like a defect is eventually ruled out, wouldn’t everyone rather be certain that the conclusions authorities come to are based on clear facts?
