Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

If the allegations here prove to be true, then it’s just awful to see yet another fatal crash on Texas roads involving an intoxicated driver. It’s an all too common occurrence on our roads, and it’s important that both the authorities and the public does what they can to prevent these incidents.

Whether it’s advocating for more serious legal consequences, advocating for drug and alcohol programs, investigating bars that over-serve their customers so they can be held liable, encouraging the use of public transit and ride-share services, etc. Whatever led to this fatal crash, it likely won’t be the last time it does so. But there can still be steps taken to help make things right and to help prevent future accidents, even if it’s just one.
