Lubbock, TX — June 19, 2023, Ricardo Puga was injured following a semi-truck accident at around 11:35 a.m. along Loop 289.
Information provided by authorities says that the truck wreck occurred in the area of Loop 289 and 19th Street.
According to officials, 59-year-old Ricardo Puga was on foot and outside of a vehicle that was stopped along the right shoulder. It appears Puga was doing repair work on that vehicle. While there, authorities say that a tractor-trailer somehow went onto the shoulder where it crashed into the parked vehicle, hitting Puga.
As a result of the collision, Puga sustained injuries which were described as incapacitating. It did not appear that anyone else was hurt due to the accident. There is no indication at this time whether or not charges or citations are being considered. Investigations are ongoing.
