Humble, TX — December 9, 2024, a man was killed following a pedestrian versus car accident shortly before 12:15 a.m. along Eastex Freeway.
According to authorities, a 43-year-old man was on foot attempting to cross North U.S. Highway 59 in the vicinity south of Rankin Road when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the man was struck by a southbound Ford Expedition. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was reportedly declared deceased at the scene. The man who had been behind the wheel of the Ford did stay at the accident site and reportedly cooperated with investigators.
