Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Despite not knowing all of the facts, some people may have already drawn their conclusions here. Unfortunately, that’s because people are often unfair to motorcyclists and just blame them automatically. Obviously, people make mistakes, but it’s important to consider what the evidence says. There could always be extenuating circumstances authorities failed to mention.

People can unexpectedly hit debris in the road. Motorcycles can have defects. Drivers can be illegally over-served by bars. Authorities might miss clues that another driver caused the crash and left the scene. These things have happened before, so it’s important to at least consider the possibility they happened again. Otherwise, there’s no telling what might slip through the cracks.
