Newton County, TX — June 11, 2023, one person was killed and Phillip Jarrell and Denver Jarrell were injured after a car accident at 5:00 a.m. on F.M. 363.
Preliminary details about the crash say that it took place in the area of the F.M. 363 and County Road 3510 intersection, near Bleakwood.
According to statements from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred as 51-year-old Phillip Jarrell and 29-year-old Denver Jarrell were in a Ford truck traveling westbound along F.M. 363. While doing so, police say it’s possible an oncoming Chevy pickup had its lights off when it crossed left of center and hit the Ford truck head-on.
Phillip Jarrell sustained serious injuries in the crash while Denver Jarrell has reportedly been released. The other driver, currently identified in the news as Danielle Hooks, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Right now, there are claims that the Chevy truck may have been reported stolen from Kirbyville. However, this and other factors surrounding the crash have yet to be confirmed.
