Coleman County, TX — November 21, 2023, Philip Mayfield was killed and Demmit Gray was injured in a truck accident around 6 a.m. along U.S. 67.
According to authorities, 57-year-old Demmit Gray was traveling in a westbound 18-wheeler along U.S. 67 between S.H. 206 and C.R. 402 when the accident occurred.
Reports indicate that 48-year-old Philip Mayfield was traveling eastbound in a pickup truck on U.S. 67. For unknown reasons, the pickup truck was traveling into the oncoming traffic of the westbound lane; the pickup truck and 18-wheeler collided as a result. Mayfield was declared deceased at the scene of the accident, while Gray, who was injured in the accident, was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive treatment.
The cause of the accident has not yet been confirmed; it remains under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly cloudy and dry. No additional details are currently available pertaining to this incident.
