Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of the main concerns following a pedestrian accident like this is knowing if authorities gave it enough attention. People unfortunately tend to jump to conclusions with pedestrians without considering any factors beyond just who had the right-of-way. However, it’s just as important to be thorough as with any serious accident. This includes road design, signage and lighting, distracted driving, alcohol and drugs, fatigue, and other potential factors that require thorough investigations.
It’s possible authorities have already taken steps to consider all of these possibilities. However, if a victim’s loved ones feel they’re not getting the answers they need, it may help to trust those instincts and make sure there are more thorough investigations to confirm whether or not authorities missed something important.
