Accident Report
March 26, 2026, one person was killed following a metro bus versus pedestrian accident at around 8:00 p.m. along Forsyth Boulevard.
Initial statements from authorities say that the collision occurred at the intersection of Forsyth Boulevard and South Central Avenue in west St. Louis.
Details suggest that a 52-year-old woman was on foot at the time in the crossing. In events which aren’t clear, a Metro Transit bus somehow struck the woman. As a result, the woman ultimately succumbed to fatal injuries.
Right now, additional details about the accident are unavailable.
How Did This Accident Occur?
It would go a long way to answering this question if police were able to secure video of this accident. A lot of buses have cameras these days, but so do businesses and residences. If any nearby buildings have cameras with a view of the road, that could provide additional angles and further insight about what led up to the collision. This evidence tends to be time sensitive, though, so hopefully investigations move quickly to secure the evidence before it’s lost. Whether that’s authorities or independent investigators, so long the victim’s loved ones know they’re getting the whole story, that’s a step in the right direction.
