Andrews, TX — August 14, 2024, a minor pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run car accident at around 6:00 a.m. along SE Avenue E.
According to authorities, the accident took place in the vicinity of SE Avenue E and South Main Street.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a minor pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle. The striking vehicle allegedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim.
The pedestrian suffered critical injuries as a result of the collision; they were taken to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, they were ultimately unable to overcome the severity of their injuries, having later been declared deceased. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
