Accident Report
February 1, 2026, one person was injured following a hit-and-run accident at around 10:25 p.m. along the North Freeway.
Initial statements about the accident say that it took place along the southbound side of the North Freeway service road, just off Patton Street.
According to officials, a man was on foot at the time in the area of the I-45 service road. While there, authorities say that a brown Dodge pickup hit the pedestrian. That vehicle then fled the scene.
Due to the collision, the pedestrian was seriously injured. There’s no indication right now whether or not authorities have identified a suspect.
How Did This Accident Occur?
There’s not much information about the accident itself, though a driver fleeing the scene is often a sign that person did something wrong. That could be something relating to the collision, such as drugs or drunk driving. Or, maybe there were other things that person didn’t want police looking into.
Regardless, locating a hit-and-run driver should always be a priority, and that often starts with putting as much information out to the public as possible. That can lead to someone in the community connecting the dots and coming forward with a name or even just pointing authorities in the right direction.
If authorities aren’t doing that, then perhaps folks can share in the comments any information they think could be helpful.
