Austin, TX — February 28, 2023, a pedestrian was killed after a vehicle hit them on North Lamar Boulevard, then left the scene.
Investigators said that the incident happened at around 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of North Lamar and Rundberg Lane. I’m sure folks in Austin share my concerns any time someone in their community leaves the scene of an accident. It’s not just about failing to take responsibility, though that’s a big component of why I’m concerned. It’s also that people tend to leave accident scenes due to specific factors they want to hide from police. Drugs, alcohol, stolen vehicles, warrants, etc. That’s why it’s so important the community keeps these details visible to as many people as possible until someone is able to connect the dots. If nothing else, there’s a family out there that deserves to see someone held accountable for their loss.
