Port Arthur, TX — February 8, 2024, one person was killed in a pedestrian versus car accident that took place along U.S. Highway 96.
According to authorities, the accident took place on U.S. 96 in the area between Jimmy Johnson Boulevard and Memorial Boulevard.
Officials indicate that it it is unknown, at this time, how many vehicles were involved in the accident. It has been confirmed that one victim incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the incident. Preliminary reports state that both north and southbound lanes of the highway had to be closed. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time have not been reported on.
