Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People are generally too quick to jump to conclusions when it comes to pedestrian accidents. But just like any serious accident, there can be extenuating circumstances. Did authorities examine signage in the area? Was the victim clearly visible? Was alcohol a factor in the accident? Was the driver on their phone? Is this an area that sees an unusually high number of pedestrian accidents? Investigations need to be able to answer these questions, otherwise they might miss something important.
