How Did This Accident Occur?

When considering pedestrian involved accidents on freeways, most people will be hyper focused on why the pedestrian was in such an unsafe place at the time of the accident. I certainly do not want to mitigate the importance of that question; however, I do hope that the investigators who are looking into this case consider aspects other than that in order to ensure it is given the attention it deserves. Was the pedestrian on the freeway because they had left a vehicle that had been having mechanical issues? Or maybe it had been involved in a previous accident? Investigators should also look into pedestrian infrastructure in the area and whether or not there is a sufficient amount for pedestrian traffic. In the end, the loved ones left behind by the victim deserve answers that only in-depth investigation can provide. Surface-level investigation won’t cut it.
