Houston, TX — May 19, 2024, a man was killed following a pedestrian versus car accident at approximately 12:20 a.m. along Interstate Highway 45.
According to authorities, a 41-year-old man was on foot in the right shoulder northbound lane of North Freeway, I.H. 45, when the accident occurred.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pedestrian was struck by a northbound Toyota Corolla. While a northbound Ford Escape tried not to hit the pedestrian, as well, it ultimately did so. The pedestrian suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
