Harris County, TX — August 6, 2024, a pedestrian was injured due to a car accident that happened around 11:19 p.m. on F.M. 1960.
Authorities said they were called to the intersection of F.M. 1960/Cypress Creek Parkway and Cali Drive, just off I-45 in north Houston.

According to officials, a 33-year-old woman was on foot at the time and reportedly crossing westbound lanes of F.M. 1960. While doing so, a westbound Jeep Grand Cherokee struck the woman. As a result, the woman was seriously injured.

Authorities did not report any charges or citations. However, they did mention alcohol as a possible contributing factor. That can make situations like this a lot more complex than folks may realize. This is because alcohol providers can be responsible if they over-serve someone whose intoxication then causes them to hurt themselves or someone else. Unfortunately, this is often found through investigations independent of the authorities, so it’s not likely something authorities here would have looked into yet.
