El Paso, TX — February 12, 2024, a girl was injured in a pedestrian versus car accident at approximately 3:00 p.m. along Barton Street.
According to authorities, an 11-year-old girl was getting out of a parked vehicle and crossing Barton Street from west to east in order to get to her residence in the vicinity north of Falby Court when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the girl failed to yield the right of way to motor vehicle traffic, entering the road at an unsafe time. As a result, she was struck by a southbound Ford Explorer. The girl incurred suspected severe injuries due to the accident; she was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.
