Winkler County, TX — May 4, 2023, a pedestrian was killed due to an alleged drunk driving accident at around 9:00 p.m. along Austin Street.
Preliminary statements from investigators say that the incident took place in the area of the Austin Street and Hickory Street intersection.
Details at this time indicate that a 59-year-old Kermit man was walking at the time and was on Austin Street. While there, a westbound Chevy pickup struck the man. This ultimately resulted in the man succumbing to fatal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was identified in the news as Bobbi Walkingstick of Oklahoma. She is said to be facing a charge for intoxication manslaughter after authorities alleged she was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
