How Did This Accident Occur?

When a vehicle hits a pedestrian, people tend to jump to asking if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk. Obviously, that’s important. It’s just not the only thing an accident reconstruction looks into after a crash.

For example, it could be that there’s a particular issue on this stretch of road with signage, lighting, or road markings. If pedestrians and vehicles are not properly directed, if there are missing signs that haven’t been replaced, or if there need to be safety improvements, then it’s possible for a crash like this to happen regardless of someone having or not having the right-of-way.

How all of that relates to this specific accident isn’t for me to say right now. My point is simply that there should always be a thorough investigation into these situations so families can get answers and so there can be a fair and proper resolution for all involved.

If anyone is from this area, is this a known problem spot for pedestrians and drivers? Let me know in the comments.
