Paulix Laurel, Agapito Nino III Alleged Drunk Driver Accident Denton, TX

According to officials, 24-year-old Paulix Laurel and 25-year-old Agapito Nino III were in a Honda Accord going westbound on McKinney. From oncoming lanes, it appears an eastbound Honda Civic went left of center, crashing into Laurel’s vehicle. Due to this, Nino reportedly had serious injuries. Laurel had reportedly moderate injuries.

Right now, details allege that the Civic driver was under the influence of alcohol and was recommended to face charges for intoxication assault. If that’s true, did authorities look into whether or not the driver was illegally over-served? Frankly, it’s not always on their radar, so there could be an accomplice to all of this yet to answer for their actions.

For example, I handled a case not long ago where a drunk driver turned into oncoming lanes and hit a family’s car, nearly killing a young boy. The family wasn’t sure why authorities should care where the alcohol came from. After our investigations, though, they were shocked at how authorities dropped the ball. That bar continued serving the man well beyond the point of obvious intoxication. He could barely walk to the bathroom, yet the drinks kept coming. That meant that bar exposed themselves to all kinds of consequences, including criminal investigations, fines, license suspension, and liability for the injuries. Had it not been for our investigations, it’s likely the bar simply would have been let off the hook to continue their reckless behavior, and more people would eventually get hurt.

That’s why it’s important after accidents like this to make sure there are thorough investigations into all the events leading to the crash. It could be this was all just one person’s recklessness, or it could be multiple wrongdoers need to be held accountable. Knowing if authorities are even investigating that could be a good first step to making sure there’s a proper conclusion to all of this.
