East Alton, IL — June 22, 2023, Oscar “Zeke” Bettorf was killed in a single-vehicle accident when his cargo exploded around 3:40 p.m. in East Alton.

Sources report the victim’s semi-truck was pulling into an Olin property when his cargo of shotgun shell primers exploded. Mr. Bettorf was fatally injured.

Authorities have not released any details about how the incident occurred.
