Houston, TX — July 6, 2025, Oscar Garcia was killed as the result of an alleged hit-and-run accident at around midnight along North Loop 610 East.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at a property at 8501 North Loop East, just off I-610 and Liberty Road.
Authorities say that a car meet was going on, and 23-year-old Oscar Garcia was on foot. Somehow, a Dodge Charger struck Oscar Garcia, then allegedly left the scene. Oscar Garcia sustained fatal injuries.
Authorities say they identified the runaway driver. Right now, charges are pending, and the accident is still under investigation.

If the allegations here are true, it’s at least encouraging that someone is going to answer for what happened. However, it’s important investigators can say exactly why the alleged runaway driver left the scene. Sometimes, there are reasons that bring up more complex legal avenues for even victims and families. Besides, it’s just prudent to be able to say exactly what all led up to the accident. Hopefully authorities are taking those steps.
