How Did This Accident Occur?

It’s easy to assume the Jeep driver was to blame for a crash like this, since she apparently crashed into a truck that was stopped in traffic. But what if the truck didn’t have working brake lights? Or the Jeep driver had a medical emergency? Or the Jeep had an issue with its brakes? Authorities must consider these questions in their investigation, so the Jeep driver’s family can get a clear picture of what happened on I-70.

Physical evidence, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage can help investigators as they work to reconstruct this accident. Cell phone records could show what each driver was doing before the crash, but an outside expert likely will have to examine the vehicles if authorities suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this crash.
