Authorities indicate that on July 14, a collision occurred when a southbound vehicle rear-ended a semi-truck traveling in the same direction on Boggy Creek Road. According to reports, the two vehicles came to the intersection, and the rear vehicle crashed into the semi at the red light. The crash happened sometime before 11:00 p.m.
Investigators have not determined the cause of the crash but confirmed that the vehicle driver, whose name has not been released, sustained severe injuries in the crash and was taken to an area hospital for medical treatment. The driver succumbed to her injuries and died at the hospital.
The semi-truck driver also sustained injuries in the crash, but the injuries were not life-threatening.
