Pearland, TX — May 21, 2026, one person was killed and three others were injured in a single-vehicle accident at about 1 a.m. on South Freeway/State Highway 288.

Authorities said a southbound vehicle overturned near McHard Road. It crashed into the guardrail and caught fire, trapping all four occupants inside.

One passenger, whose name has not been made public yet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities, while the driver and two other passengers were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
