How Did This Accident Occur?

In my experience, a single-vehicle crash usually has more than one possible cause. I expect investigators to consider driver error or fatigue, given the time of the crash, but they should also look into whether the truck swerved to avoid another vehicle or an object in the road, or whether a mechanical defect affected its brakes or steering.

Data from the truck’s engine control module and available dashcam footage should aid in the investigation of this crash, but an independent expert may be needed to perform a forensic exam of the truck to determine if it was operating properly.
