How Did This Accident Occur?

Most people probably assume one of the drivers involved in this crash is to blame. That makes sense, unless you’ve made a career dealing with commercial vehicle accidents. In that time, I’ve seen drivers told by supervisors to pull over at the side of the road to switch loads. I’ve seen third-party routing companies schedule routes that didn’t account for real-time conditions, forcing drivers to pull over on the shoulder because they’ve run out of driving time. I’ve also seen drivers pull over to deal with poorly designed trailers. These scenarios demonstrate the need to keep an open mind during an investigation, as the facts gathered will tell us what happened here.
